The similar phrase 'Worldly Christianity' is one used by Bonhoeffer. It's J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with. See his Christianity and culture here. Having done commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), a matching title for Ecclesiastes would be Heavenly Worldliness. For my stance on worldliness, see 3 posts here.

Short Poem 28

The short poems series has been on the back burner over the summer and may not be revived but this epitomising poem by Steve Turner simply has to be included.

Short Poem

Short poems
are fun.
You can see at a glance
whether you
like them
or not.

I'm at a loss to know why and how this is a poem; it's two sentences split into short lines. If I do that with this contribution, does it become a poem?

Benfold, you're not a great poet,
and aren't we aware of that fact!

Perhaps, if you'd wrote ...

a poem

... we might have felt different, look you, isn't it?

Brady, how about reading some poetry for us?
