The similar phrase 'Worldly Christianity' is one used by Bonhoeffer. It's J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with. See his Christianity and culture here. Having done commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), a matching title for Ecclesiastes would be Heavenly Worldliness. For my stance on worldliness, see 3 posts here.

Hey that was me!
Have been looking through your blog for a while now Gary, and finally plucked up courage to comment. But you probably don't remember this voice from the very distant past, do you? Or perhaps you do?
Maybe www.denzil.be will refresh your memory, or maybe it won't.
Best wishes and continue with the bloggin'.

Sorry I didn't recognise you! Time does funny things - though looking at your site not so much. It's nice to see the 'embryo you' I knew projected down the years like that. I remember the roots that make your Benelux domicile, your writing on nature walks, your continued walk with the Lord, etc, no great surprise. I'm sure you get a similar experence when you come here! Do keep coming.
