Explanation: I think the similar phrase 'worldly Christianity' is from Bonhoeffer. It is J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with as in his Christianity and culture here. I've produced commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), if I ever did one on Ecclesiastes a matching title would be Heavenly Worldliness, the title also of this blog. Cuyp Dordrecht

I was in Kenwood House today and noticed this painting, which hasn't grabbed my attention before. A view of Dordrecht by Aelbert Cuyp (1620-1691) was painted some years after the famous Synod of 1618 in about 1652.
