Lord's Day January 26 2014

We were in Matthew 3 (Jesus's baptism) and Esther (6) again yesterday. Numbers were down rather especially in the evening for some reason. The sermons were quite a contrast. I found it a little difficult to find my way preaching on the baptism of Jesus for some reason and the sermon came out relatively short (under 30 minutes). I found Esther 6 much easier and it was approaching 40 minutes by the time I had finished. I tried to be evangelistic in both - and hopefully did that. Praying was much more difficult than preaching for some reason.

Lord's Day November 24 2013

So back in Childs Hill this Lord's Day and back into the series on 1 Corinthians and Esther. In the morning we completed our studies in 1 Corinthians 11 and in the evening we looked at Esther 2. I was saying that we must examine ourselves before eating at the communion and I was trying to outline the difficulties and the challenges of living in a pagan world while urging faith in Christ but it seemed to come over a little flat in some ways. I'm not sure why. It's always good to be with God's people nevertheless.
