The similar phrase 'Worldly Christianity' is one used by Bonhoeffer. It's J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with. See his Christianity and culture here. Having done commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), a matching title for Ecclesiastes would be Heavenly Worldliness. For my stance on worldliness, see 3 posts here.

Lord's Day January 12 2025

It was the usual unusual in Childs Hill again last Lord's Day as we started again on our series - in Ephesians and 2 Chronicles. There was, of course, a new ranian who we might or might not see again. There was an Italian lady and her brother with Downs Syndrome visiting. Again many were ill and others were away for other reasons. Some we haven't seen for a little while were back. Three or four lots of babies and parents were in the creche. Good to see it being used. There were five children too. I spoke to them for the last time this time round from the Christmas catechism. Plenty to encourage then and some things to discourage, I guess.
