The similar phrase 'Worldly Christianity' is one used by Bonhoeffer. It's J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with. See his Christianity and culture here. Having done commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), a matching title for Ecclesiastes would be Heavenly Worldliness. For my stance on worldliness, see 3 posts here.

Satan blunders

Satan is not omniscient. Sometimes he makes mistakes, especially when different plans run up against each other. The above picture purports to be of Zimbabwe's President Mugabe receiving communion in Vatican City yesterday. Despite being banned from most European countries for human rights violations, Mugabe was present in the Vatican at the so-called beatification of Karol Woytila, better known as Pope John II. The evils of the late pope are not the same as Mugabe's, of course, but that Satan has used both for evil ends is not something there should be any doubt about. I notice that a certain Cardinal Dziwisz told AFP recently concerning th late Pope's blood and hair "these are from of the pope's body, so these are relics of the first degree". Utter paganism.
