The similar phrase 'Worldly Christianity' is one used by Bonhoeffer. It's J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with. See his Christianity and culture here. Having done commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), a matching title for Ecclesiastes would be Heavenly Worldliness. Carey Conference 2026 Day 2a
On the morning of our only full day here at the Carey we heard again very helpfully from Peter Williams on archaeology and the Bible and then James Mildred of CARE spoke on the subject of abortion and current and future legislation. Again, very enlighteniing and stirring. We have a free afternoon.
