The similar phrase 'Worldly Christianity' is one used by Bonhoeffer. It's J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with. See his Christianity and culture here. Having done commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), a matching title for Ecclesiastes would be Heavenly Worldliness. For my stance on worldliness, see 3 posts here.

Very cool. There's a pic of you & Jan on your Flickr page - very cool again. I was a fan of his years ago when no one, at least in the crowd I ran around with, knew who he was.

Can you tell me about the pic titled "Graduation JOC." I believe I know the man in the front row, far left. He was an elder in the church I attended a few years ago -I was a deacon there.

My wife complains that I do my best smile in this picture just for Jan. Actually I have an unseen broken leg he's just signed and that is the joke. I hope to see him next month. My fellow graduate is Dr John Bower.

I thought so. John is an elder in a church where I was a deacon a few years a go. He lives just a few minutes from where I work. A good man indeed. What was this occasion?

John, myself and the other fellow were receiving ThM degrees from WTS following a series of studies with the John Owen Centre here in London. Do pass on my greetings.
