The similar phrase 'Worldly Christianity' is one used by Bonhoeffer. It's J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with. See his Christianity and culture here. Having done commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), a matching title for Ecclesiastes would be Heavenly Worldliness. For my stance on worldliness, see 3 posts here.

Lord's Day March 31

Feeling a bit Mondayish today. The main reason I think is that we were quite a low number (in single figures) in the evening (the problem was probably mother's day rather than BST). The morning wasn't too bad and a local woman was there who has only come in the evening so far. The second part of Acts 19 is not so easy to preach but I think we did okay. I feel a little down because of missing people and the fact I won't be preaching in Childs Hill next week plus the general lack of impact we see. We finished our church history series and sang four 20th century hymns (two Margaret Clarkson hymns on the second coming, Jesus is Lord and a Melody Green song).
PS Nice to talk to someone in the congregation who has been often to Effes. They still sell little models of Artemis apparently.
