The similar phrase 'Worldly Christianity' is one used by Bonhoeffer. It's J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with. See his Christianity and culture here. Having done commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), a matching title for Ecclesiastes would be Heavenly Worldliness. For my stance on worldliness, see 3 posts here.

EL Lecture on Myles Coverdale

Over twenty joined us on Zoom for a very interesting lecture last Monday, organised by the Evangelical Library.  Jonathan Wilson of Ripon gave us an excellent illustrated introduction to Myles or Miles Coverdale. Relying on the new biography by G F Main (see here), he was able to guide us very clearly and helpfully through the background and the main features of the life of the often exiled Coverdale and still leave time for questions. Another lecture November 23. Details from the Library.
