A very full day yesterday - three sermons and two ordinances. it was very hot which made it difficult but it was a good day of worship and fellowship. Two of the sermons and communion were Alfred Place Baptist ones in English. There was also a sermon in AP in Welsh followed by the baptism of two young people from a Christian family in the sea. Great moment at lunch hearing my oldest grandchild ask his great grandfather about common grace, as referred to in the morning sermon.
The similar phrase 'Worldly Christianity' is one used by Bonhoeffer. It's J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with. See his Christianity and culture here. Having done commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), a matching title for Ecclesiastes would be Heavenly Worldliness. For my stance on worldliness, see 3 posts here.
