My wife has many gifts but the most extraordinary is the ability not simply to find the best bargain in the shop, usually half price, but when she arrives at the till to pay to be told that the item is in fact half of the already marked down price. It happened again this morning when she was out buying some clothes for one of my sons. There ought to be a name in Latin for it. Something like dimidiumdedimidiumpretiumitis.
The similar phrase 'Worldly Christianity' is one used by Bonhoeffer. It's J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with. See his Christianity and culture here. Having done commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), a matching title for Ecclesiastes would be Heavenly Worldliness. For my stance on worldliness, see 3 posts here.
