There were ten of us there last Wednesday as we carried on through 1 Timothy 3. Some were away with colds. Always keen to make progress I decided to leave my notes at home and see how I got on. It went well - well none the worse than if I had my notes with me. We were quite interactive, looking at the matter of deacons and the women. It is good to be going over this ground once again. We had a good time of prayer too with most people praying.
The similar phrase 'Worldly Christianity' is one used by Bonhoeffer. It's J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with. See his Christianity and culture here. Having done commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), a matching title for Ecclesiastes would be Heavenly Worldliness. For my stance on worldliness, see 3 posts here.
