The similar phrase 'Worldly Christianity' is one used by Bonhoeffer. It's J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with. See his Christianity and culture here. Having done commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), a matching title for Ecclesiastes would be Heavenly Worldliness. For my stance on worldliness, see 3 posts here.

On page 84 of the book Elizabeth expresses doubts as to any man getting that far in the book. I have just read the whole thing. I can't remember reading a book in one sitting before. Yes, it's not for blokes (it gets into areas I hardly want to think about really) but it is an impressive work and one of the most enjoyable reads I have known in a long while.
It is brilliantly written. Any writer needs to find a voice and Elizabeth's is superb - serious yet humorous, realistic, practical, frank, oozing with well thought through biblicality. Such a funny book, such a practical book, such an encouraging book, such a frank book; a very modern book too, written for today not last century. It is honest, realistic, solid, judicious, balanced, sensible. What a joy to know such books are being produced.
