Last week's midweek meeting was a little different as we also had a church members meeting immediately following the Bible study (from the first part of 1 Timothy 3). We did it this way for more than one reason but one was that there was a Christian Instititute meeting in St John's Wood the next night (I was the only one who made that). The snag is that it was quite late when we finished, despite my efforts to streamline things. One person could not stay either, which is not ideal.
The similar phrase 'Worldly Christianity' is one used by Bonhoeffer. It's J Gresham Machen that I want to line up most closely with. See his Christianity and culture here. Having done commentaries on Proverbs (Heavenly Wisdom) and Song of Songs (Heavenly Love), a matching title for Ecclesiastes would be Heavenly Worldliness. For my stance on worldliness, see 3 posts here.
